Yes, you can cancel your deposit guarantee at any time. Simply pay the requested amount to your landlord as a rental deposit and return the guarantee certificate to us.

You continue to pay premiums until you or your landlord returns the guarantee certificate to AdunoKaution and the landlord agrees not to make any claims under the guarantee or if no claims have been brought against you by the landlord on expiry of one year following the end of the lease. If you take out a new deposit guarantee with AdunoKaution for a subsequent rental contract, the previous guarantee will remain in place free from payment of further premiums until the new guarantee has been concluded.

AdunoKaution complies with all data protection and privacy laws in carrying out credit checks.

A credit check verifies a person's or company's ability to pay. Before an application is accepted, AdunoKaution checks the applicant's creditworthiness. AdunoKaution does so by obtaining debt collection and business information from third-party providers in full compliance with data protection laws. In other words, we check your financial situation to establish your ability to pay.

To make a claim against you under the guarantee, the landlord must satisfy the same conditions as apply to a conventional rental deposit. If you and your landlord cannot come to any agreement regarding outstanding claims, the landlord must take legal action or institute debt collection proceedings within one year.

Please refer to the General Insurance Conditions.

To terminate the deposit guarantee you must give us notice in writing and either you or your landlord must return the guarantee certificate to AdunoKaution. The deposit guarantee will then cease.
